Burnley’s 1-0 win at Everton on Sunday continued a fine start to the Premier League season for Sean Dyche’s team, especially away from home.

The victory at Goodison Park, coupled with the opening-day victory away to Chelsea and draws at Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool, have earned Burnley eight points on their travels, one more than they had gained throughout last season away from Turf Moor.

Burnley’s Premier League away record

Season P W D L GF GA Pts
2009/10 19 1 1 17 17 52 4
2014/15 19 3 5 11 14 32 14
2016/17 19 1 4 14 13 35 7
2017/18 4 2 2 0 6 4 8

Despite their struggles on the road last season, Burnley avoided relegation from the Premier League for the first time.

Their fans are probably looking higher in 2017/18 after three more points on Sunday lifted Dyche’s team to sixth place after seven matches.

But the Burnley manager is not getting carried away.

"We're not remotely trying to make out we're the real deal, but the question is, 'Can you fight it out when you need to and can you be effective when you play?'" Dyche told Burnley’s official website.

Dyche was also pleased with the nature of the winning goal by Jeff Hendrick. The 24 passes in its build-up is the most for a Burnley goal in the Premier League, and the second highest in the competition this season after Fabian Delph's strike for Manchester City against Crystal Palace (31 passes).
