Arsene Wenger has dismissed the notion of "bogey teams" ahead of Arsenal’s trip to Stoke City on Saturday.
In six previous visits to the bet365 Stadium Arsenal had failed to beat the Potters, but that run changed last season when they secured an emphatic 4-1 win. Wenger believes that result gives his side plenty of confidence.
“We had a convincing win there and that should inspire us," he told arsenal.com. "Traditionally it’s always been a difficult place to go for everybody, but of course we continue in a strong way our start to the season.
“I don’t believe in bogey teams too much. What is important is the performance on the day. We had a good performance last season and we have to focus on that."
The Arsenal manager hopes to have three players back to full fitness for the 17.30 BST kick-off, but Alexis Sanchez may still be absent.
