Brentford have completed the signing of Sergio Reguilon on loan from Tottenham Hotspur until the end of the season.

The Spain international spent the first half of the season on loan with Manchester United, making nine appearances in the Premier League, two in the UEFA Champions League and one in the EFL Cup.

"This is a very good signing for us. We’ve been talking for a while about how we need a good left-back, and we managed to get a very good left-back", head coach Thomas Frank told the club's official website.

"I’m very pleased with the job that Phil Giles and Lee Dykes have done.

“Sergio is a perfect fit for us: a proven Premier League player in every aspect. He fits what we want. He’s very offensive, has a very good cross and a very good left foot.

“He’s got the experience we need to complement the rest of the squad and he’s a good character."

Reguilon will provide cover at left-back for Frank as both Rico Henry and Aaron Hickey are sidelined with injuries.

The 27-year-old defender has made 61 appearances in the Premier League for Spurs and Man Utd since joining in 2020 from Real Madrid, keeping 13 clean sheets and providing eight goal contributions.

Reguilon could make his debut for the Bees when they face Nottingham Forest at home on 20 January.
