Ike Ugbo scored twice as Chelsea denied Everton the chance of clinching the Premier League 2 title in an exciting 2-2 draw at Aldershot.

Everton came into the match knowing that a victory would guarantee them an unassailable lead at the top of Division 1.

But fifth-placed Chelsea had other ideas as Ugbo gave them the lead on the quarter-hour mark.

The visitors equalised through Bassala Sambou and went ahead thanks to Liam Walsh’s 53rd-minute effort, only for Ugbo (pictured above) to strike again on the hour.

Chelsea goalkeeper Mitchell Beeney produced a spectacular save to deny Jonjoe Kenny a title-winning goal for Everton late on.

Everton can only be prevented from becoming champions by Manchester City, on goal difference.

City need to beat Liverpool, on Monday, and Southampton on 5 May, and recover a goal deficit of eight on Everton.

David Unsworth's side need just a draw in the Merseyside derby, their final match, on 8 May to claim the trophy.
