Trent Alexander-Arnold attributes his breakthrough into the Liverpool first team this season to his development at Premier League 2 level.
The 18-year-old made his Premier League debut in December, with a first start last month at Manchester United, 12 years after joining the academy.
It was his performances in PL2 that got him into Jurgen Klopp's thinking and, having risen through the ranks, Alexander-Arnold says the Under-23 competition is the perfect route to reaching the first team.
"It almost replicates the Premier League, because you come up against different styles and different opposition, and different tactics and formations," he told liverpoolfc.com.
