Everyone at the Premier League is saddened to learn of the passing of Maurice Watkins.
During his 25 distinguished years as a director at Manchester United, Maurice played an integral role in United's involvement in the formation of the Premier League.
He also served as an important member of the Premier League's Legal Working Party in the organisation's first decade.
Our thoughts are with Maurice's family and friends at this sad time and with those who worked with him at Manchester United.
