Will Goodwin picked the perfect time to score his first goal for Stoke City with a late winner against Newcastle United to secure a Division 2 playoff place.
Douglas James-Taylor's first-half opener for Stoke was cancelled out by Dylan Stephenson before Goodwin struck the winner with 10 minutes left.
Stoke stay second with 40 points from 21 matches. Newcastle remain bottom on 21 points.
