No Room For Racism

Ian Wright has called on social media companies to do more to combat online discrimination after Manchester United and West Bromwich Albion players and their families were targets of racist abuse.

The latest was Man Utd's Marcus Rashford after his match with Arsenal on Saturday.

Former Gunners striker Wright was subject to online discrimination last year and the Premier League helped to track down the offenders through its dedicated online abuse reporting system.

Wright has thanked the League and highlighted the importance of the No Room for Racism campaign, but insists more must be done.

"With what the Premier League has done, with me they have been amazing in helping to track people down," says Wright.

"Things are being done. With the weight of everything that's behind, and the goodwill of people, white people, this is what makes it move. When white people get involved, things happen.

"So you can't let one person who's able to reach Marcus Rashford, one of the greatest and most profiled players in the world at the moment, a platform that's given you that power to be able to abuse them, but you can't reach that person.

"Things are happening but it's not happening quick enough from the powers that be. They can do more. They can do a lot more."
