1994: Aston Villa 0-2 Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest continued their title challenge with a win over Aston Villa, who were without a league win in five matches.

After just one minute, Nottingham Forest went in front when Stuart Pearce converted a penalty to give them the lead. 

Steve Stone then doubled their advantage and handed them the three points. 

The result left Forest in second with 27 points, two points behind league leaders Newcastle United while Villa were in 16th on 10 points. They were only a point above the relegation zone. 

2011: Aston Villa 1-2 West Bromwich Albion

West Bromwich Albion came from behind to claim their first league win at Villa Park since 1979. 

Darren Bent gave Aston Villa the lead from the penalty spot before Chris Herd was shown a red card on 35 minutes. 

Chris Brunt failed to convert the resulting spot-kick before Jonas Olsson headed home the equaliser from a corner.

Paul Scharner fired in the winner which left West Brom in 12th with 11 points. 

Villa were on the same points as their opposition but a place above them in 11th.
