One of the biggest jobs we have as Fantasy Premier League Draft managers is not to overreact to a bad result as we move players in and out of our squads.

Tottenham Hotspur's midweek performance in the UEFA Champions League is a case in point.

Despite their 7-2 home defeat by Bayern Munich, let's remember they sit sixth in the Premier League table and visit a Brighton & Hove Albion side who have picked up only three points since the opening weekend.

Spurs are not the only club where this is relevant advice, with Arsenal poised for a kind run of fixtures that could help increase their resilience.

As always, here are my waiver priorities ahead of Gameweek 8, with likely player availability based on eight-team leagues.

GKP: Dean Henderson (SHU)

The Sheffield United goalkeeper will be looking to atone for last weekend's error against Liverpool and a trip to Watford offers potential short-term value if you need a solution in goal. Bernd Leno is my longer-term pick, with Arsenal's injured defensive players returning to fitness ahead of a favourable schedule.

DEF: Hector Bellerin (ARS)

Speaking of Arsenal's fit-again defenders, I'd prioritise Bellerin over Kieran Tierney and Rob Holding but I think all three have significant value. The full-backs are particularly enticing options because they have attacking value as well as the potential for an uplift in clean sheets compared to what we've seen from the Gunners thus far.

I was surprised to see Aaron Cresswell still available in three of my leagues. I think he's at least won the left-back spot at West Ham United for now, so I'd prioritise him as both a short-term and long-term option.

MID: Tanguy Ndombele (TOT)

I also was surprised to see Ndombele available in a couple of my leagues. Perhaps the combination of his recent injury and the general malaise surrounding Spurs means he has been overlooked. I know it's a small sample size but he's posted a goal or an assist in three of the four Premier League matches he's started.

You might also look at Pablo Fornals and Anwar El Ghazi based on their Gameweek 8 fixtures, against Crystal Palace and Norwich City respectively.

FWD: Wesley (AVL)

Among the players likely to be available in Gameweek 8, it doesn't get much better than Wesley against a Norwich side who have been giving up goals for fun and seem particularly vulnerable when defending crosses to powerful centre-forwards.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin could also be an option after a difficult fixture against Manchester City last weekend. He still scored in that match and has a kind schedule on the horizon.
