Everton have won both of their matches at Goodison Park this term as they prepare to host a Sheffield United side who are unbeaten on their travels but are without an away Premier League victory for nearly 13 years.

Team news

Andre Gomes is "getting better every day" but has not quite shaken off a rib injury and misses out, manager Marco Silva confirms.

Jean-Philippe Gbamin (thigh) is Everton's only other absentee.

Sheffield United striker Billy Sharp is suspended after his red card against Southampton last weekend, while on-loan midfielder Muhamed Besic cannot play against his parent club.

Did you know?

Everton are unbeaten in their last four Premier League meetings with Sheffield United (W2 D2), having lost their opening two matches against them in 1992/93.

But the Toffees have lost three of their last four Premier League matches against promoted sides (W1), as many as they had in their previous 44 in the competition (W25 D16 L3).

Sheffield United are aiming for their first win in 13 away Premier League matches (D3 L9), with their last such victory coming at Wigan Athletic in December 2006.

Each of Everton's last three goals in the Premier League have been headers. They have only scored four consecutive headed goals on two occasions, in November 2008 and April 2010.
