Manchester United v Leicester City

Marcus Rashford’s first-half penalty ended Manchester United’s three-match winless run as they beat Leicester City 1-0.

The striker scored the only goal after eight minutes, sending Kasper Schmeichel the wrong way from the spot after he was fouled by Caglar Soyuncu.

Leicester responded brightly, with Ben Chilwell's effort being tipped over by David De Gea.

Both teams then went close in the second half. Daniel James’s shot flew over and James Maddison’s free-kick went narrowly wide, while Rashford crashed a free-kick against the bar late on.

For all of Leicester's possession, they were unable to avoid their first Premier League defeat of the season.

United’s second victory of the campaign moves them up to fourth on eight points, ahead of fifth-placed Leicester on goal difference.
