Sam Folarin bagged a brace as Middlesbrough held off a spirited second-half fightback from Swansea City to record a second Premier League 2 Division 2 win of the season.
Folarin netted twice in a 10-minute first-half spell to put the hosts in control before skipper Ben Liddle added a third from the penalty spot on 47 minutes.
Substitute Isaiah Jones went close with two efforts as Boro looked to further push home their advantage but Liam Cullen and Josh Thomas pulled two goals back for the Swans in the final 24 minutes.
The visitors were unable to find an equaliser as they suffered their first defeat of the campaign.
