Watford and West Ham United are both seeking a first win of the season as they meet at Vicarage Road.

Team news

Watford's Troy Deeney is a definite non-starter after the forward underwent knee surgery. Deeney's absence could hand an opportunity to Danny Welbeck or Ismaïla Sarr.

Head coach Javi Gracia confirms that Roberto Pereyra and Abdoulaye Doucoure remain doubtful with a thigh and ankle injury respectively.

West Ham could welcome back Sebastien Haller and Felipe Anderson. The duo missed last weekend's draw at Brighton & Hove Albion with minor knocks.

Despite leaving the field at half-time midfielder Jack Wilshere may be available, with manager Manuel Pellegrini indicating only long-term injured Winston Reid (knee) is unavailable.

Did you know?

Gerard Deulofeu scored home and away against West Ham last season, one of four players to do so along with Callum Wilson of AFC Bournemouth, Burnley's Chris Wood and Liverpool forward Sadio Mane.

West Ham’s Michail Antonio has scored six league goals against Watford, more than against any other side in his career.

The Hornets have been defeated in their last five Premier League matches and are looking to avoid losing six in a row for the first time since the end of the 2016/17 campaign.

West Ham are looking for their first August Premier League victory in 10 attempts, having halted a run of eight straight defeats in the month with last weekend’s draw at Brighton & Hove Albion.
