Trevor Sinclair scored the winner as West Ham United beat Southampton 3-2.
West Ham had only won once in 13 matches at The Dell, but goals from Frederic Kanoute and Stuart Pearce cancelled out efforts from Saints duo Matt Oakley and James Beattie.
It was Sinclair’s strike that wrapped up United’s fourth win in five matches - a result that moved them up to 11th place on 21 points.
The result left Southampton, with 17 points, in 15th spot.
Hull City held off an inspired Everton fightback to earn victory.
Stephen Hunt powered in a shot for the home side after nine minutes before Andy Dawson doubled Hull's advantage.
Dean Marney further increased their lead to establish a 3-0 advantage going into half-time.
However Everton hit back through an own-goal from Kamil Zayatte and a Louis Saha penalty, but Hull held on in this thriller.
The result left the two teams level on 15 points each, with Everton sitting in 14th spot and Hull one place below in 15th position.
