Brooks Lennon and captain Harry Wilson struck in the second half to give Liverpool a 2-0 victory over leaders Everton in the mini Merseyside derby in Division 1 at Prenton Park.
A much-changed Liverpool side, missing players like Danny Ings from previous matches because he is preparing for the midweek EFL Cup tie with Spurs, took the lead immediately after half-time when Lennon headed home Joe Maguire's cross.
Wilson sealed the win with a low drive in the 76th minute before Cameron Brannagan hit the bar late on, as Liverpool made it five wins out of six matches to climb to second in the table - two points behind the Toffees.
