Brad Friedel joined his fourth and final Premier League club on this day in 2011, swapping Aston Villa for Tottenham Hotspur on a free transfer.

The USA international was 40-years-old when he made the switch to north London on 3 June.

In September 2012 he made his 310th consecutive Premier League appearance as Spurs beat Manchester United at Old Trafford for the first time in 23 years.

That proved to be the final match of a streak that had started more than eight years previously with Blackburn Rovers in August 2004.

It remains a PL record, while Friedel is also one of only five goalkeepers to score a goal in the competition.

The American, who first played for Liverpool when he arrived in England, made 50 PL appearances for Spurs before retiring at the end of the 2014/15 season aged 44.
