When Manchester City suffered their last top-flight defeat, a 2-1 reverse at the hands of Newcastle United on 29 January, a significant detail was overlooked in the fall-out of their surprise defeat.

Sergio Aguero's first-minute goal was set up by David Silva.

It was a strike that established the pair among elite Premier League company because it meant that the two had combined for a total of 25 Premier League goals, putting them fourth in the all-time list for strikes assisted for and scored by one other.

That exclusive list is headed by Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard who combined for a total of 36 goals in the top flight with Chelsea.
