Manchester City's shock defeat by Newcastle United will make Liverpool feel that perhaps fortune is favouring their bid for a first Premier League title, says Ian Wright.
The champions' 2-1 loss on Tuesday at St James' Park means the leaders can go seven points clear if they beat Leicester City at Anfield on Wednesday evening.
Wright believes that moments like City's loss as well as Liverpool's late victory over Everton and Riyad Mahrez missing a late penalty for Man City at Anfield will have Reds fans thinking fate is working for them.
"When you see that result, when you see the luck they've had - the goal they scored against Everton, the penalty miss by Mahrez - those little things starting to go in their favour," the former Arsenal forward said.
"This [City's defeat] is another little thing that has gone in Liverpool's favour.
"It's up to them to take advantage against Leicester, but that's not going to be easy."
