Alfie Jones and Marcus Barnes scored for Southampton as they started their PL2 Division 2 season with a 2-0 win over Middlesbrough.
Following a goalless first half at Stapelwood Campus, captain Jones netted from close range on 71 minutes.
In stoppage time, Michael Obafemi played in substitute Barnes and the striker finished well.
