Liverpool are set to assess the fitness of Philippe Coutinho (£8.2million) for Saturday lunchtime’s trip to Tottenham Hotspur.

The most popular midfielder in Fantasy Premier League, the Brazilian was only able to take part in light training on Thursday due to a hamstring problem.

Coutinho currently sits in 33.3% of teams and has been subject to 558,000+ transfers in after scoring twice away to Arsenal in Gameweek 1.

Although Divock Origi (£6.9m) is also a doubt, Jurgen Klopp still has plenty of options should he choose to retain a 4-3-3 formation, after Sadio Mane (£8.9m) turned in a man-of-the-match performance on his return to fitness in the midweek EFL Cup win over Burton Albion.

The Reds manager may consider handing Daniel Sturridge (£10.0m) his preferred role through the middle, shifting Roberto Firmino (£8.4m) out of a “false nine” role to the left should Coutinho miss out.

Slaven Bilic has plenty to ponder in midfield as West Ham United head to Manchester City this Sunday.

The Hammers’ manager is hopeful that one of Dimitri Payet (£9.4m) or Manuel Lanzini (£6.4m) will recover from injury, though is more confident as regards to the availability of Mark Noble (£6.5m), who missed Thursday’s UEFA Europa League playoff match due to a minor knock.

With Havard Nordtveit (£5.0m) likely to miss out with a foot injury, Bilic could consider switching from a 4-1-4-1 to a 4-2-3-1 set-up.

This could mean Michail Antonio (£7.0m) and Gokhan Tore (£5.5m) lining up alongside either Payet or Lanzini behind the lone striker.

David Moyes is reeling from the news that Sunderland No 1 Vito Mannone (£4.5m) has been sidelined for at least three months after sustaining an elbow injury.

The Italian’s absence allows Jordan Pickford (£4.0m) the opportunity to cement a starting role between the posts. This affords FPL managers two active £4.0m-priced goalkeepers, along with Hull City’s Eldin Jakupovic

Middlesbrough are also missing their first-choice shotstopper for Sunday’s visit to The Hawthorns.

Victor Valdes (£4.5m) remains out due to a muscular problem, with Brad Guzan (£4.5m) poised to continue in goal.

Aitor Karanka may be forced into a defensive reshuffle if George Friend (£4.5m) fails to recover from a calf problem. Both back-up options at left-back, Fabio (£4.5m) and James Husband, have been ruled out of the Gameweek 3 meeting with West Bromwich Albion.

Another new goalkeeper to the Premier League, Claudio Bravo (£5.5m), will need to wait a little longer for his Manchester City debut.

Pep Guardiola has confirmed that, although the recent signing from Barcelona is fit, he will not be considered for selection at home to West Ham.

This could allow Willy Caballero (£5.0m) to continue in goal for the third successive match at the expense of out-of-favour Joe Hart (£5.3m), meaning Bravo could be be set to debut in the Manchester derby trip to Old Trafford in Gameweek 4.

Meanwhile, Alan Pardew is uncertain whether Christian Benteke (£7.4m) is fit enough to start at home to AFC Bournemouth.

The Eagles signing was handed 45 minutes in the midweek EFL Cup win over Blackpool, though may have to make do with an appearance from the bench, allowing Connor Wickham (£5.9m) to lead the line against the Cherries.
