2003: Aston Villa appoint O'Leary

David O'Leary returned to management in the Premier League as he took charge at Aston Villa.

The former Leeds United manager, who lead the Whites to the UEFA Champions League semi-final in 2001, succeeded Graham Taylor at Villa Park.

Villa finished sixth in his first season in charge but they could not replicate that in his two other campaigns, with the club ending up in 10th and then 16th.

He left Villa Park in 2006 and was replaced by Martin O'Neill.
