1995: Mark Hughes joins Chelsea

Chelsea completed the signing of striker Mark Hughes from Manchester United.

Hughes scored 35 goals in three Premier League seasons at Old Trafford, helping the Red Devils win the title twice.

The Wales international scored 25 goals in 95 league outings for Chelsea, helping them finish 11th, sixth and fourth in his three seasons there.

He went on to move to Southampton in 1998 before finishing his playing career at Everton and then Blackburn Rovers.

2011: Man Utd sign Ashley Young

Ashley Young joined Manchester United after five seasons at Aston Villa.

The winger scored 30 goals in 157 Premier League appearances for the Villans, and became the first player to win three EA SPORTS Player of the Month awards in the same year, 2008.

Young netted six times in 25 PL matches during his debut season for Man Utd, as they lost out on the title to Manchester City on goal difference.

He helped United win the league in 2012/13 though, and has also won the FA Cup, League Cup and UEFA Europa League during his time at Old Trafford.
