Kenji Gorre's 80th-minute strike gave Swansea City a 4-3 victory at Colchester United to boost their Premier League Cup defence and knock out their opponents in the process.

Courtney Baker-Richardson struck twice early on to put Swansea 2-0 up, but Decarrey Sheriff replied before the break.

Paul Rooney marked his United debut with an own goal, but made amends by scoring at the right end to cut Swansea's lead to 3-2.

Sam Warde equalised for Colchester with a long-range strike, but Gorre decided the tie a minute later.
