Southampton FC owner Katharina Liebherr is excited about the future of the club after announcing a partnership with the Gao family from China.

Liebherr has overseen the club's promotion from League One to the Premier League since taking over after the death of her father, Markus.

She will join forces with Mr Jisheng Gao and his daughter, Mrs Nelly Gao, telling southamptonfc.com: "Following extensive and fruitful work, we are entering into a partnership with the Gao family and I am excited about what we will achieve together.

"As a team, we will strive to build upon the strong foundation that is in place towards sustainable long-term success."

After a goalless draw in their Premier League opener at home to Swansea City, Saints will host West Ham United on Saturday, 19 August.
