Kurt Zouma will spend the season on loan at Stoke City after signing a new six-year contract with Chelsea.
“Kurt is undoubtedly one of the most talented young defenders in the game, so naturally his arrival will enhance our playing squad for the forthcoming campaign," manager Mark Hughes told stokecityfc.com.
Zouma helped Chelsea become Premier League champions last term, making nine appearances after recovering from a long-term knee injury.
The two-time title winner has played 47 career PL matches in total, scoring one goal.
He is Stoke’s third senior signing of the summer, following Darren Fletcher and Josh Tymon.
The 22-year-old central defender could make his Potters debut at Everton on Saturday 12 August.
