Newcastle United have announced the signing of Javier Manquillo from Atletico Madrid.
The defender has agreed a three-year deal and joins for an undisclosed fee.
"From the first moment that Rafa Benítez called me, I just knew that I had to come here, to such a big club," he told nufc.co.uk.
The 23-year-old is Newcastle’s fourth summer signing, joining two days after Jacob Murphy's move from Norwich City.
Manquillo played last season on loan at Sunderland, adding to the temporary spell he spent in the Premier League with Liverpool in 2014/15.
The Spaniard has made 30 PL career appearances, scoring one goal.
He will hope to make his Newcastle debut when they host Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday 13 August.
