Sunderland were relegated from the Premier League after Josh King's late goal gave AFC Bournemouth a 1-0 victory at the Stadium of Light.

David Moyes' side knew they had to match Hull City's result to maintain their top-flight status.

King's strike along Hull goalkeeper Eldin Jakupovic saving a late penalty to earn the Tigers a point with Southampton, ended Sunderland's 10-year stay in the top flight.

There was a lively start with the visitors coming the closest, when King chipped Jordan Pickford, but the ball bounced back off the woodwork.

The match seemed to be heading for a draw but Sunderland were caught on the break in the 88th minute and King tapped in to become only the second Norwegian to reach 15 goals in a season after Manchester United's Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
