Everton caretaker manager Duncan Ferguson will hope to maintain his unbeaten record while 10th-placed Arsenal, who appointed Mikel Arteta as new head coach on Friday, are aiming for back-to-back away wins.

Team news

Everton's Theo Walcott and Morgan Schneiderlin (both calf), along with Djibril Sidibe and Gylfi Sigurdsson (both illness) are being monitored ahead of Saturday's match.

Lucas Digne (muscle) is also a doubt while Fabian Delph (hamstring) remains sidelined.

Arsenal will assess the fitness of Hector Bellerin (hamstring), Rob Holding (knee) and Mesut Ozil (foot), but Grant Xhaka is available for selection after suffering concussion in the win at West Ham United.

Dani Ceballos (hamstring) and Sead Kolasinac (ankle) join long-term absentee Kieran Tierney (shoulder) on the sidelines. Sokratis serves a one match suspension.

Did you know?

Everton won this exact fixture 1-0 in April but have not triumphed in back-to-back league matches against Arsenal since a run of three between March 1985 and April 1986.

Since losing 6-2 at home to Tottenham Hotspur in December last year, Everton have won four of their last five home Premier League matches against London sides (D1).

Arsenal have won more matches, 33, and scored more goals, 107, against Everton than they have against any other side in the Premier League.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s 11 goals have been worth 11 points to Arsenal this season, more than any other player in the division. He has scored in six of the Gunners’ last seven league wins, including four out of five this term.
