Southampton are targeting a first home win of the season as they attempt to close the gap on 17th-placed West Ham United.

Bottom side Watford are seeking a second win in three matches to jump above Saints in the table.

Team news

Southampton's Stuart Armstrong will miss out after sustaining a hamstring problem against Arsenal, while Sofiane Boufal (toe) is unlikely to feature.

Jannik Vestergaard (illness) returned to training on Thursday and could be in contention.

Craig Dawson (head), Christian Kabasele (hamstring) and Daryl Janmaat (knee) are ruled out for Watford, as are Tom Cleverley (heel), Danny Welbeck (hamstring) and Sebastian Prodl (knee).

Roberto Pereyra and Daniel Bachmann (both hamstring) along with Domingos Quina (groin), all trained this week but Saturday's match may come too soon for the trio.
