Lucas Digne scored a late own goal to hand Brighton & Hove Albion a dramatic 3-2 win over Everton.

The Everton left-back tried to clear a cross from Leandro Trossard, but could only steer the ball past Jordan Pickford and give Brighton their first back-to-back home victories for a year.

Pascal Gross put Brighton ahead after quarter of an hour with a fierce free-kick, but Everton equalised five minutes later when Richarlison’s header went in off Adam Webster for an own goal.

Substitute Dominic Calvert-Lewin gave Everton the lead two minutes after coming on.

But Neal Maupay equalised from the penalty spot with 10 minutes remaining after the VAR spotted a foul by Michael Keane on Aaron Connolly and Brighton turned it round to earn all three points.

The win lifts Brighton up to 12th on 12 points, while Everton drop to 16th with 10.
