Coach Steve Beaglehole was proud of the application of his young Leicester City side after they fell to a 2-0 defeat against FC Porto in the Premier League International Cup at King Power Stadium on Saturday night.

Second-half goals by Imacio Santos and Erik Palmer-Brown earned an experienced visiting side victory but the young Foxes, whose goalkeeper Daniel Iversen (pictured above), impressed for the Foxes, gave a good account of themselves against strong opposition.

"It was a young team for us tonight, most of them were under 19 years old, and I thought we did terrific," Beaglehole told lcfc.com. "We started with five at the back and handled it well tactically."

Leicester lie fourth in Group C, and will attempt to get their first points on the board in their final match of the section at home to Liverpool at 1pm at Holmes Park on Saturday 3 December.
