Crystal Palace and Aston Villa both head into the weekend on a high after each securing their first victory of the season, against Manchester United and Everton respectively.

Team news

Palace's Scott Dann is a doubt after suffering a hand injury during Tuesday's EFL Cup tie against Colchester United.

Roy Hodgson expects Dann's fellow centre-backs James Tomkins and Mamadou Sakho, who have been recovering from long-term injuries, to return after the international break.

Aston Villa are without James Chester, Matt Targett (both hamstring) and Jonathan Kodjia (ankle).

Did you know?

Palace have won 10 Premier League matches in 2019. Only Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal have had more victories, with 19, 16 and 12 respectively.

Roy Hodgson has won more PL matches against Aston Villa than against any other side (P11 W7 D2 L2). He has also won his first meeting with them with his previous four clubs in the competition, at Blackburn Rovers, Fulham, Liverpool and West Bromwich Albion.

Villa will be looking to win consecutive PL matches for the first time since May 2015, when they beat Everton and West Ham under Tim Sherwood.

Palace's Jordan Ayew scored seven goals in 30 PL matches for Villa in 2015/16. The Villans have had 38 different players to score both for and against them in the competition. Only West Ham have had more.
