Aston Villa have completed the signing of Belgian defender Bjorn Engels from French Ligue 1 side Stade Reims.
The 24-year-old centre-back joins Villa for an undisclosed fee to become the club's eighth summer arrival.
Engels spent five years with Club Brugge in his native Belgium and switched to Olympiacos in Greece in 2017 before joining Reims, where he made 33 Ligue 1 appearances in 2018/19.
He has also represented his country at Under-17, Under-18, Under-19 and Under-21 level.
"Bjorn is a player that I've been watching for the past 18 months," head coach Dean Smith told Villa's official website.
"We're very happy to have secured his services and look forward to working with him."
Aston Villa will kick off their 2019/20 Premier League campaign at Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday 10 August.
