Third-placed Tottenham Hotspur are looking for a first victory in four Premier League matches as they visit Southampton, who are targeting a second win in three outings and a bigger cushion above the relegation zone.

Team news

Saints striker Danny Ings (hamstring) is unavailable along with Mario Lemina (abdomen), who is not up to match fitness yet.

Dele Alli (thigh) could be back in the frame for Spurs, however fellow midfielder Harry Winks is a doubt after sustaining a groin injury in the midweek Champions League victory at Borussia Dortmund.

Right-back Kieran Trippier (gluteal muscle strain) remains sidelined.

Southampton are aiming for their first PL home win over Spurs since their return to the top flight in 2012.

Saints have won three of their seven PL home matches under Ralph Hasenhuttl, as many as they had in their previous 24 under Mauricio Pellegrino and Mark Hughes.

Southampton have lost 20 points from winning positions this season, more than any other PL side.

Harry Kane has scored in his last four PL meetings with Southampton, netting six goals. That includes goals in his last three matches at St Mary’s.
