There were mixed fortunes for Southampton, who missed out on the Premier League 2 Division 2 play-offs despite a 2-1 win over Middlesbrough at St Mary's Stadium.
Southampton needed a win and for Reading to drop points against Stoke City, but the Royals won 3-1 to end Saints' hopes of finishing fifth.
Alfie Jones put Saints ahead on the half-hour mark against Boro, heading in from a Callum Slattery corner.
Nathan Tella (pictured, above left) converted a Michael Obafemi cross seven minutes later.
Boro, who pulled a goal back through Tyrone O'Neill, finished fourth and will visit Brighton & Hove Albion in their play-off semi-final, which is a one-off tie at the home of the higher-ranked Brighton side.
Saints ended in sixth place.
