As their playmaker, Ward-Prowse will be looking to deliver a big performance in his side’s final match at St Mary’s Stadium.

The midfielder certainly approaches the weekend in fine form.

Ward-Prowse has scored once and supplied two assists in his last three appearances to collect 19 points.

Creative influence

The underlying numbers highlight his huge influence at home this season.

He has produced 33 chances in such matches, more than twice the total of any team-mate.

And Ward-Prowse's 19 shots and seven shots on target in those encounters both rank second for Southampton.

Liverpool, meanwhile, have not been at their best defensively on the road this season.

Jurgen Klopp’s men have managed only five clean sheets in away matches, compared with nine when playing at Anfield.

Ward-Prowse can take advantage of those weaknesses and deliver a big performance.
