A home encounter with Wolverhampton Wanderers gives Cole Palmer (£5.8m) the opportunity to produce another bumper haul in Gameweek 23 of Fantasy Premier League.

The midfielder has recorded five double-figure returns in just 15 appearances since making his full debut for Chelsea in Gameweek 7.

That includes 14 and 10-point scores in his last two appearances at Stamford Bridge.

Palmer is named vice-captain in a best XI that lines up in a 3-5-2 formation, with the fit-again Erling Haaland (£14.0m) handed the armband.

Scout Selection: Best FPL team for Gameweek 23
Bernd Leno (Fulham) £4.8m

Six clean sheets, 18 save points and 12 bonus points highlight the Fulham No 1’s many routes to returns. Leno can enjoy further success at Turf Moor this weekend, as the Cottagers face a Burnley side who have scored only one goal in their last three home matches.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool) £8.5m

The right-back looks set to return to Liverpool's starting XI at Arsenal after appearing off the bench against Chelsea in midweek. Alexander-Arnold faces the Gunners in excellent away form, earning 32 points in his previous four such matches thanks to a goal, an assist, two clean sheets and eight bonus points.

Kieran Trippier (Newcastle) £6.7m

A visit from Luton Town hands the Newcastle United right-back a chance to collect another bumper haul at St James’ Park. Trippier has three double-figure scores in 10 home appearances, producing three assists, five clean sheets and 13 bonus points.

Pedro Porro (Spurs) £5.9m

Tottenham Hotspur’s Spaniard looks a strong prospect for points at both ends of the pitch against Everton. In away matches, Porro’s total of seven returns is more than any other defender this season, combining three clean sheets with four assists.

Kevin De Bruyne (Man City) £10.7m

Manchester City’s playmaker has amassed 19 points in a mere 91 minutes over his two matches since returning from injury. De Bruyne looks set to maintain that momentum against a Brentford side who have conceded at least twice in five successive contests.

Diogo Jota (Liverpool) £8.0m

His midweek strike against Chelsea took the Portuguese’s tally to four goals and three assists in four matches. Jota’s team-high goal conversion rate of 28.1 per cent is almost three times the 9.7 per cent of Darwin Nunez (£7.5m), highlighting his importance to the Reds in the absence of Mohamed Salah (£13.1m).

Richarlison (Spurs) £7.0m

The Brazilian has averaged 8.0 points per match since being moved up front in Gameweek 16, scoring seven goals in seven outings. That includes a goal and eight points against his weekend hosts Everton in Gameweek 18.

Anthony Gordon (Newcastle) £6.1m

Newcastle winger Gordon is the second top-scoring player in home matches in 2023/24 Fantasy, producing six goals, five assists and 76 points. The versatile Gordon could even play as a forward against Luton this weekend if Alexander Isak (£7.6m) fails to recover from injury.

Cole Palmer (Chelsea) £5.8m

His 38 shots, 18 shots on target and 24 key passes all rank first for Chelsea from Gameweek 7 onwards.

Erling Haaland (Man City) £14.0m

Having featured off the bench on his return from injury in midweek, the Norwegian could be unleashed from the start against Brentford on Monday evening. Haaland has been presented with 21 big chances in away matches this season, more than double the total of any other player in Fantasy.

Dominic Solanke (AFC Bournemouth) £7.1m

AFC Bournemouth’s striker will be hoping he can repeat his exploits from his previous meeting with opponents Nottingham Forest. Solanke scored a hat-trick to record his career-high 17 points at the City Ground in Gameweek 18.
