The Scout's panel of Fantasy Premier League experts share their best and worst moments of the 2024/25 season.

Best: For me this was a transfer, rather than something on the pitch. Selling Erling Haaland and Antoine Semenyo to get Matheus Cunha and Mohamed Salah was a masterstroke. The pair gained over 75 points in the following weeks, which was a massive sliding-doors transfer in my season.
Worst: Not picking Eberechi Eze on my Gameweek 30 Wildcard. I backed Eze for points but in the end I just couldn't squeeze him in due to my budget. Instead, I settled for Ismaila Sarr, who proved to be a disappointment.

Best: My Free Hit in Gameweek 34 has become one of my all-time favourite FPL Gameweeks. The standout moment was the Jose Sa penalty save. Sa was a doubt heading into the Gameweek and I nearly went without him, so it was a rollercoaster of emotions that day. I was delighted to see him starting, and then when the penalty was given, I felt frustrated. However, Sa saved the penalty, preserving his and team-mate Rayan Ait-Nouri's clean sheets. Sa also earned the penalty save points and bonus. He was a hero that day!
Worst: I was on holiday for Gameweek 9 and decided to Triple-Captain Erling Haaland. When he scored early on against Southampton, I thought he was going to score a hatful, but no such luck. Haaland returned just the six-pointer and it was definitely a low point as chips can make or break a season. This one definitely felt like a wasted opportunity.

Best: My highlight of the season was captaining Cole Palmer for his four-goal return in Gameweek 6 against Brighton. That was a huge differential and really catapulted me up the ranks early in the season.
Worst: Selling Eberechi Eze for Kevin De Bruyne on a Free Hit in Gameweek 36. De Bruyne had the fixture against Southampton, while Eze faced Spurs, but De Bruyne blanked and Eze scored a brace - a critical decision that cost me 16 points.
Gianni Buttice (@GianniButtice)
Best: The Assistant Manager chip was probably my highlight. I backed underdogs David Moyes, Unai Emery and Oliver Glasner, and collectively they hit 56 points from the chip, so it was definitely worth using transfers on managers. In Gameweek 26 I had a Gameweek rank of 102,000 where everything fell into place and most my players returned, including 20 points from Glasner.
Worst: I held firm on Haaland too long and backed the underlying numbers, which didn't come good. When most managers switched to Salah, I kept Haaland and gave him the armband for weeks. That really hurt as Salah was scoring a brace every week as the most-captained asset, and I didn't even own him. If only Haaland had hit his Expected Goals numbers I would have been fine, but he fell short.

Best: Captaining one of my all-time favourite players De Bruyne against Wolves for one final time in Gameweek 35, and him delivering, with all other popular picks failing that week.
Worst: I had the choice between selling Dominic Solanke and Haaland to fund Salah, and went with Solanke, who went on to bag 15 points that week, while Haaland blanked for many weeks. Painful.

Best: The best moment of the season has to be getting Cole Palmer in Gameweek 6 for his 25-point haul against Brighton, where he scored four goals and wasn't highly owned.
Worst: Holding Haaland and captaining him for the first half of the season. Not only did I captain him instead of Salah, who was incredible, I had him instead of Cunha and Chris Wood, who were very popular picks and kept outperforming Haaland.
Lee Bonfield (@FPLFamily)
Best: The Free Hit this season was a HUGE success. I played it in Gameweek 34 and got 106 points, a Gameweek rank inside the top 5,000 in the world. It was easily my best week of the season and gave me a huge green arrow. Everything went right!
Worst: The Assistant Manager chip didn't really go plan. I chased the table-bonus points and it didn't fall in my favour. Glasner's Crystal Palace going 2-0 up against Manchester City in Gameweek 32 looked good for a moment, until De Bruyne and Man City turned it round. A bad moment, since the chip is so powerful.

Best: My best moment is Gameweek 34 where my Free Hit bagged me 97 points. Sa saved Jamie Vardy's penalty for his first double-digit return since August 2023. Also, Ait-Nouri and Kieran Trippier earned double-digit points. It was one of those rare weeks where everything went right and it propelled me to a finish inside the top 10,000 in the world.
Worst: My worst moment ironically was literally the week before using my Bench Boost in Double Gameweek 33. Emiliano Martinez blanked in both games for four points. Alexander Isak blanked. Aaron Wan-Bissaka wasn't named in the squad for the first time all season, and Dan Burn scored an own goal. In total I got four points from my Bench Boost!
Az Phillips (@FPLBlackbox_Az)
Best: Amad's hat-trick against Southampton in Gameweek 21 was the definite highlight as he was a big differential for me. I also really enjoyed the celebrations I had with David Moyes as my Assistant Manager with that last-minute equaliser against Liverpool!
Worst: Bringing in Danny Welbeck and captaining him in Gameweek 38, with Bukayo Saka - who was benched - as vice-captain. A horrible way to end the season.
