The Scout pinpoints players who can deliver their most successful ever campaign in Fantasy Premier League this season.

Kieran Trippier (NEW) £5.0m

The Newcastle United full-back made an immediate impact at both ends of the pitch after arriving in last January’s transfer window.

Trippier scored twice and collected a clean sheet in his first four appearances before he was sidelined through injury.

He averaged 5.6 points per start over his five Newcastle outings in 2021/22, having returned to action at the end of the season.

Newcastle’s defensive prospects were transformed after Eddie Howe was appointed head coach last term.

They had conceded in each of their first 11 matches with Steve Bruce in charge.

The Magpies improved to keep eight clean sheets after Howe arrived in Gameweek 12, a total bettered by just five other sides.

Set-piece potential

Trippier also boasts strong attacking potential thanks to his set-pieces duties.

He scored both his goals from direct free-kicks and has established himself as their No 1 for taking corners.

That all-round style of play suggests Trippier can surpass his best-ever total of 118 points in Fantasy this term.

Certainly, Newcastle’s early schedule gives him the chance to reward managers.

According to the Fixture Difficulty Ratings (FDR), four of their first six matches score only two.

Trippier can take advantage of that run, delivering points at both ends of the pitch from the very start of the season.
