Weekly Challenges: Create a motivational team talk

24 Feb 2021

Former Premier League defender Ashley Williams encourages children to inspire others

The Premier League is continuing to support families and teachers in lockdown by providing free, weekly home-learning activities.

Suitable for five to 11-year-olds, the new Premier League Primary Stars Weekly Challenges have a theme of health and wellbeing, and are supported by curriculum-linked resources.

Team talk

Ashley Williams understands that team captains have an important role to play in looking out for team-mates and has set this week's challenge based on creating a motivational team talk.

"We would like you to imagine that you are a team captain for a day and to create a short team talk to motivate your team," says the former Swansea City captain and Everton defender.

"You could pretend to be a captain of your favourite football team, your school team or even an imaginary team!

"Make sure that what you write in your speech celebrates everyone's differences and encourages everyone to work together."

Share your script

Once you have written your team talk, take a picture of it and share it with us on social media @PLCommunities and using #PLPrimaryStars #WeAreOneTeam.
