Glasner named Barclays Manager of the Month

Austrian voted best Premier League manager of September after guiding Crystal Palace to unbeaten start

Oliver Glasner has been named the Barclays Manager of the Month for September, winning the award for the first time in his career.

Glasner led Crystal Palace through the month unbeaten as his side extended their unbeaten run to 19 matches across all competitions.

His team began September with a 0-0 draw at home to Sunderland, but quickly turned on the style, winning 2-1 at West Ham United before recording a dramatic late victory over Liverpool, to ensure Palace remained the only undefeated team in the Premier League at the end of the month.

Glasner becomes only the second Austrian to win the Barclays Manager of the Month accolade, after Ralph Hasenhuttl, who claimed the honour in July 2020 with Southampton

The 51-year-old, who was appointed in February 2024, is also the first Palace manager to win the award since Tony Pulis did so in April 2014.

Glasner topped a four-man shortlist that included Pep Guardiola, Mikel Arteta and Regis Le Bris, claiming the September award after votes from supporters were combined with those of a panel of football experts.
