Barclays Manager of the Month shortlist
Mikel Arteta (Arsenal)
P3 W2 D1 L0 GD+4
Arteta's Arsenal faced a tricky set of September fixtures, but the Spaniard steered his team through the month unbeaten, beating Ange Postecoglou's Nottingham Forest, rescuing a late draw against title rivals Manchester City and leaving it even later to grab a turnaround victory at Newcastle United that took the Gunners up to second in the Premier League table.
Oliver Glasner (Crystal Palace)
P3 W2 D1 L0 GD+2
Glasner's side are the only unbeaten team in the Premier League this season. They began September with a 0-0 draw at home to Sunderland, but quickly turned on the style, recording back-to-back victories against West Ham United and Liverpool. Before Crystal Palace played Liverpool, the Reds were the only team with a 100 per cent record, however, Glasner's brilliant in-game management was displayed as he brought on Eddie Nketiah, who scored a dramatic stoppage-time winner.
Pep Guardiola (Man City)
P3 W2 D1 L0 GD+7
Guardiola's Man City were the league's entertainers, scoring a league-high nine goals and only conceding two. Man City recorded a memorable 3-0 Manchester derby win, which they followed up with a resolute defensive display in a 1-1 draw at Arsenal before ending the month with a 5-1 thrashing of Burnley.
Regis Le Bris (Sunderland)
P3 W1 D2 L0 GD+1
Le Bris' Sunderland continue to defy expectations in their first season back in the Premier League, going unbeaten through September to end the month fifth in the table. The Black Cats conceded only one goal all month, and that was in a 1-1 draw with Aston Villa when they were reduced to 10 men. Sunderland held unbeaten Crystal Palace to a goalless draw, while they ended the month by beating Forest 1-0 at City Ground.
