For 25 years, the Premier League Stadium Fund has provided investment for clubs to improve their facilities in the men’s and women’s game. This improves the player and fan experience, helping clubs to become more sustainable with more welcoming and accessible environments.
Funded solely by the Premier League and delivered by the Football Foundation, grants are available to clubs who play in Steps 1 to 6 of the National League System, Tiers 1 to 4 of the Women's Football Pyramid and clubs promoted into the English Football League.
Since 2000, the Premier League has invested £219 million to improve the facilities of more than 1,000 clubs across over 100 leagues, including the EFL, National League system and women's football.
The Premier League Stadium Fund has provided more than 6,200 grants towards projects including 614 clubhouses and changing rooms, 935 stands, 750 floodlights and 550 pitch improvements.
The Premier League Stadium Fund is aiming to enable all non-league and women’s clubs are to instal energy-efficient LED floodlights at their stadiums.
These floodlight upgrades financially benefit clubs by reducing bills up to 50 per cent, also improve clubs' environmental sustainability as LED lights use less energy and need replacing less frequently compared to traditional floodlights.
So far, £5.3m has been distributed and up to 500 clubs are expected to be funded to switch over the next five years.
Grants are being made available to National League System and Women’s Football Pyramid clubs over the next three years.
The League also provided 196 grants totalling £1.38 million for ground repairs through the storm relief fund.
