Kane is comparable to Messi, says Neville

To celebrate Brighton & Hove Albion v West Ham United being the 10,000th Premier League match, we asked past players to name their favourite.

Phil Neville

Phil Neville played in several title showdowns for Manchester United, but one stands out in particular.

Arsenal were the reigning champions and were leading the way again when they visited Old Trafford in December 2002.

Despite having an injury-ravaged XI Sir Alex Ferguson's side won 2-0 and ultimately lifted the Premier League Trophy.

"It was at the time when Arsenal were the best team in the country by far, playing the best style of football," Neville says.

"It was a day when you just had a sense before the game that something special was going to happen. We had to have individuals who played beyond their best."
