Farid Alfa-Ruprecht has been named the Premier League 2 Player of the Month for September.

The free-scoring German winger won the award after he contributed to five of Manchester City's 12 goals during the month, scoring four times and assisting another in his three PL2 matches to help take his team to the top of the table.

"I am delighted to have won this award," said Alfa-Ruprecht. "September was a great month for the team - winning all our PL2 games. It was brilliant to score in all three of them.

"I am very thankful to my team-mates, the coaches and staff for helping me to make it happen. I am happy with the start we have made to the season, and I want to continue this and push on."

Alfa-Ruprecht's impressive month began as he scored twice in City's 5-0 victory over Everton.

He played a key role in the 3-1 derby win at Manchester United, opening the scoring before turning provider to assist team-mate Jaden Heskey, son of former Liverpool and Leicester City striker Emile Heskey.

The 18-year-old maintained his record of netting in every match across September, adding another to his tally in the 4-1 success against Aston Villa, City's fourth consecutive win.

Alfa-Ruprecht topped an eight-man shortlist that was selected by the Premier League's Football Development Panel.

Congratulations to September's PL2 Player of the Month, Farid Alfa-Ruprecht!
