Given the fine margins in the Premier League, players who win 50/50 contests can be decisive figures. So who repeatedly came out on top?
Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes showed his combative qualities by winning the most duels across the season, with 285.
There will be little surprise to see Fulham's tough-tackling midfielder Joao Palhinha also in the top three, but eyebrows are possibly raised at the fact that the Portuguese was eclipsed by West Ham United winger Mohammed Kudus, who is in second spot.
