More goals than expected
In terms of overperforming from Expected Goals (xG) Phil Foden finished the campaign in first. The Manchester City star's actual total of 19 Premier League goals was 8.66 more than the EA SPORTS Player of the Season was expected to score.
Next came Callum Hudson-Odoi, who achieved his best Premier League goalscoring season of eight goals for Nottingham Forest, despite recording an xG of only 2.73.
In third is Jean-Philippe Mateta who had a superb upturn in form when Oliver Glasner came in to replace Roy Hodgson in February, scoring 13 of his 19 goals from that point on, a total that was 5.06 above his xG.
