The Scout looks at the best options for the captaincy in Gameweek 33 of Fantasy Premier League.

There seems little doubt that Erling Haaland (£12.3m) will be the runaway armband pick for Manchester City’s home match with Arsenal.

The Man City forward averages 10.1 points per start at the Etihad Stadium and welcomes an Arsenal side who have conceded at least twice in each of their last three.

Haaland boasts strong form ahead of Wednesday's encounter, scoring five goals in his last four matches.

His total of 34 points ranks joint-top in that run, matched by his team-mate Jack Grealish (£7.2m) and Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins (£7.7m).

Watkins’ four goals and an assist was identical to Diogo Jota (£8.8m), whose Liverpool team-mate Mohamed Salah (£13.0m) also found the net on four occasions.

Haaland’s seven big chances were more than any rival in the analysis, while Salah’s 16 shots and 16 shots in the box both placed top.

Gabriel Martinelli (£6.9m) has amassed 32 points in his previous four matches for Arsenal.

He has matched the eight shots in the box of Jota while also creating 14 chances, more than double any of the featured players.

Haaland also leads the way in the home/away analysis.

His prolific home output has earned him 37 points in his last four at the Etihad, scoring five goals and supplying two assists.

What makes this all the more impressive is that Haaland only played 45 minutes in two of those four outings.

Martinelli is his closest challenger with 36 points across his last four on the road.

His three goals and two assists were identical to Watkins’ output in his last four at Villa Park.

The Villa striker’s 15 shots and 15 shots both lead the way here ahead of his home meeting with Fulham.

The away form of Liverpool pair Salah and Jota raises questions over their armband prospects against West Ham United, with just seven shots each in their last four away matches.

Ultimately, though, the numbers all point to Haaland, with Watkins leading the race for those managers willing to risk going without the Man City striker as their captain.
