The improving form of Harry Kane (£12.4m) and Cristiano Ronaldo (£12.2m) could persuade more managers to invest in premium forwards in Fantasy Premier League

For the first time this season, the pair are the top-scoring forwards in Fantasy, with Ronaldo leading Kane by 117 points to 115 at the summit.

The Manchester United striker delivered his best score of 2021/22 Fantasy at the weekend, a hat-trick against Tottenham Hotspur helping him to 17 points.

Ronaldo's first goal v Spurs

Despite being overshadowed by the Portuguese at Old Trafford, it is Spurs’ Kane who has been the most productive forward in the second half of the campaign.

He is the top-scoring forward from Gameweek 20 onwards, with his total of 70 points at least 19 more than any rival.

Kane and Ronaldo’s form is in stark contrast to the rest of the five most-selected forwards.

Most-owned forwards

Dennis 31.7 2 0 31
Antonio 30.1 1 3 33
Kane 21.3 8 2 70
Ronaldo 18.4 5 1 49
Broja 14.8 2 0 30

Watford’s Emmanuel Dennis (£6.1m) has one goal in his last 11 matches yet he remains the most popular player in his position, picked by 31.7 per cent.

Michail Antonio (£7.5m) has scored once in his last 10 appearances, the West Ham United striker also supplying two assists, while Armando Broja (£5.5m) has only netted once in his last nine outings.

Brentford’s Ivan Toney offers strong value at a cost of just £6.6m.

The forward has seven goals in his last four starts, claiming back-to-back double-figure scores against Norwich City and Burnley.

Crucially, Brentford are among only eight sides who are scheduled to play in Gameweek 30, visiting Leicester City.

Similar to Man Utd’s Ronaldo, Watford’s Cucho Hernandez (£5.0m) and Southampton’s Che Adams (£7.0m) are without a fixture in Gameweek 30.

But they have the form to provide alternatives to their respective team-mates Dennis and Broja for managers who are Wildcarding in Gameweek 31.

Hernandez has two double-figure hauls in the last three Gameweeks, while Adams has only blanked twice in his last seven appearances.
